New song written today. We haven't been practicing our set or writing as much as we'd like to recently due to work and other such things. Even with us all working together, it's still pretty exhausting sometimes to fit a practice or a writing session into a way that aligns with everyone's sleeping patters and such, but we seem to be getting back up to speed, and will only continue to keep doing so.

I hate to be the guy to throw around genres and whatnot, as most music these days, ours included, blurs the line between a few different ones, if anything. But there's definitely a lot of attention deficit disorder going into the transitions and whatnot, lots of jumps between different sounding influences... black, doom, sludge, mathematical core of the hard persuasion. But most importantly, as Jeremy and I are the two original dudes and have collectively done the majority of the song writing since our inception as a band, we have started to realize as we begin this new chapter and lineup, that we've done a good portion of not so much bland, but maybe more one dimensional song writing in the past. We're once again comfortable being 15 years old and playing heavily distorted aggressive music.

I know for me, these past couple years of getting back into the swing of said aggressive music has been quite a learning experience. I can't say that I've ever approached diving back into a form of music as head-on as I have this time around, nor have i ever felt so refreshed and intrigued. I think now that we're nearing 2 years deep with Wildfires, a time period that used to be the entire life span of our former bands, we're realizing how to take a hold of what we're doing and manipulate it to our specifications rather than just go along with wherever our hands end up on the fret board, snare drum, etc.

All fancy word placement aside, shit's getting real solid, peoples.
I look forward to the future of Wildfires with a giant boner.
